Verdict
Plane Finder is a cult classic in the spotter community and we respect it. For travelers, the day-of experience is dated and the alerting layer doesn't match what iOS can now do natively. FlightyFlow is built around Live Activities, Dynamic Island, the Lock Screen — and around the traveler, not the spotter. $19.99 lifetime or $4.99/month. No ads. We do not sell your data.
Get FlightyFlow on the App Store. $19.99 lifetime, or $4.99/month.
Paid on the App Store. $19.99 lifetime, or $4.99/month. No ads. We do not sell your data. Just a beautiful flight tracker built for iPhone.
Frequently asked
Is Plane Finder still good?+
Yes for plane spotting, especially AR. For traveler use cases (gate alerts, Live Activities, predictive delays) it's narrower than modern iOS-first trackers.
Does FlightyFlow have AR plane spotting?+
Not today. It's a roadmap item. Most of our users open the app to track their own flight, not to identify a passing aircraft.
Which has better global coverage?+
Both use ADS-B. Coverage is essentially equivalent over land; over oceans we use satellite ADS-B which closes the mid-ocean gap.
Is FlightyFlow free?+
No. Every feature requires an active subscription or a lifetime purchase. $0.99/week · $4.99/month · $34.99/year · $19.99 lifetime. Cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. No ads. We do not sell your data.
Can I use both?+
Yes. Many spotters keep Plane Finder for AR and FlightyFlow as their travel tracker.
